Conditions for families in need of assistance in already difficult times have become extremely difficult due to a shortage of mental health care providers and facilities for young people, as well as a depletion of resources during COVID-19 and a lack of school mental health specialists. One state that is trying to satisfy these demands is Wisconsin. Sharyn Alfonsi of 60 Minutes visits Milwaukee to document the effects of the pandemic on Milwaukee’s youth’s mental health as well as the reactions of their families and communities.
