Following the FOX NFL doubleheader on Sunday, September 11, an all-new family drama with a country music theme will air, followed by its time period premiere on Tuesday, September 20 on FOX.

The first season of Fox’s upcoming drama series “Monarch” will feature appearances by legends of country music. Tanya Tucker, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, and Shania Twain, all power house country superstars, will make special appearances during the premiere season.
In MONARCH, The Queen of Country Music, DOTTIE CANTRELL ROMAN (Sarandon), and her devoted husband, “Texas Truthteller,” ALBIE ROMAN, are the heads of the Roman family (Adkins). A country music dynasty has been established by Dottie and Albie. However, despite the fact that the Roman name is regarded as being legitimate, the fundamental basis of their success is a falsehood. When their position as local royalty is threatened, the heir apparent NICOLETTE “NICKY” ROMAN (Friel) will do everything it takes to preserve her family’s history and advance her own aspirations for fame. LUKE ROMAN (Joshua Sasse, “Galavant”), the middle child, runs the family’s company, Monarch Entertainment. Luke is the pride and joy of his mother, but his relationship with his father is strained because no matter how hard he tries, he can never win his acceptance. The family’s youngest child, GIGI TUCKER-ROMAN (singer/songwriter Beth Ditto, “On Becoming a God in Central Florida”), is quite close to her elder siblings, but Gigi has always felt like a bit of an outsider in the famous family. Gigi is married to successful music manager KAYLA ROMAN-TUCKER (Meagan Holder, “Dave,” “Pitch”), who consistently declines Luke’s invitations to work with the family business. Outside of work, Kayla has a difficult history with the Romans, and a secret she is harboring could end her marriage to Gigi. The family also includes ACE GRAYSON, a newcomer to Hollywood and Filipino recording star Inigo Pascual. His parents, Nicky and her husband, struggling British actor CLIVE GRAYSON (guest star Adam Croasdell, “Preacher,” “Reign”), adopted him when he was 18 years old. He is a gifted and sensitive young man. Ace aspires to be a country star like his grandfather Albie and is an incredible singer with true stage swagger. Then CATT PHOENIX (Martha Higareda, “Into the Dark: Culture Shock”), the stunning and unpredictable mother of 17-year-old ANA PHOENIX (Emma Milani, “Solve”), a gifted and wide-eyed young singer trying to get signed to the Roman family’s record label, enters the chaotic world of the Romans just as it was about to get even more so. Catt has a long-standing resentment towards the Romans, Nicky in particular, and her arrival in Austin causes quite a stir.
