OZZY is back. OZZY OSBOURNE, a Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will release PATIENT NUMBER 9 on September 9. This will be the singer and songwriter’s first album since his critically acclaimed, internationally top-charting 2020 ORDINARY MAN release.

Having previously collaborated with Ozzy, Todd McFarlane adds, “I leaped at the chance to do so again…especially on the music side this time.” “Any creative person who has maintained a multi-decade career in the competitive music industry has demonstrated the skill, talent, and determination that will always win my appreciation. Ozzy has inspired many of us creative people by demonstrating that it is possible to live a lifelong career doing what you love. Run, Ozzy!

The new record, which will be released on Epic, was produced by Andrew Watt (who also worked on ORDINARY MAN), and it will be OSBOURNE’s 13th solo studio album. It’s heavy, hard-hitting, historic, and everything else you could ask for in an OZZY OSBOURNE album—possibly even more. “Patient Number 9” was written by OZZY, Watt, Robert Trujillo, Chad Smith and Ali Tamposi and features a riveting solo from legendary guitarist Jeff Beck (one of the notable guest stars on the album).

For the second time, OZZY collaborated with producer Watt, and he welcomed a powerful A-list supporting cast. Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, and longtime right-hand man and six-string beast Zakk Wylde, who plays on the majority of the tracks, are among the guitarists featured on the album.

While the late Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters made an appearance, Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers handled the drumming for the majority of the record. The majority of the album’s tracks feature longtime friend and former OZZY band member Robert Trujillo of Metallica on bass; a couple songs also feature Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses and Chris Chaney of Jane’s Addiction on bass. Tony Iommi, guitarist and co-founder of Black Sabbath, makes his first-ever appearance on an OZZY solo album.
