CBS and The Bold and The Beautiful kick off Season 36 on September 26. 2022

The most viewed daytime drama series in the world, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, returns for its 36th season on Monday, September 26, 2022. It includes a special crossover episode with THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. On April 14, 2023, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL will broadcast its 9,000th episode.

Before we begin The Bold and the Beautiful Season 36, a little historical background.
Developed for CBS by Lee Phillip and William J. Bell. It debuted on March 23, 1987, as a sister program to The Young and the Restless, another soap opera produced by the Bells. The show, which is based in Los Angeles, California, is focused on the Forrester family and their haute couture company. With an estimated audience of 26.2 million viewers, the show has grown to become the most viewed soap opera in the world since its debut. Bradley Phillip Bell is Executive Producer and Head Writer for The Bold and the Beautiful, and has won the Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team eight times.

The show has an ensemble cast, led by the performers who have been with the show the longest, John McCook as Eric Forrester and Katherine Kelly Lang as Brooke Logan.  They have been with the show since their first air date. Among the musical guests who have made an appearance include Usher, Celtic Woman, and Dionne Warwick. One of the most famous guest stars on the program may be Betty White. For 23 episodes between 2006 and 2009, she played Ann Douglas, Stephanie Forrester’s mother. The show tapes and airs 5 days a week, Monday thru Friday.  It is a known fact that the cast and crew actually shoot at least 8 episodes per week.

Since its first day of production, B&B has filmed all interior shots for the show on Stage 31, located at the CBS Television City, in Hollywood. In 2015, on the occasion of the 7,000th episode, CBS renamed it the Bradley P. Bell Stage. The art department has  produced more than 1,700 sets for B&B. That lovely Forrester estate  you see on your TV was based on the real-life manion of William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell, the show’s creators. The Bold & the Beautiful is seen by around 35 million viewers every day and airs in over 100 countries. Over 17 different locations in Southern California have been used for B&B filming, including Downtown, Bel Air, Catalina Island, The Hollywood Sign, South Los Angeles Animal Shelter, Leo Carillo Beach, Malibu Creek State Park, Marina Del Rey, Palm Springs, Pan Pacific Park, The Queen Mary, Long Beach, Paradise Cove, Point Dume, Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica Pier, The Grove, and Venice Beach.

In September 2011, the program switched to high definition, the second to the last American soap opera to make the switch. B&B is the youngest airing daytime soap opera in the United States. The Bold and the Beautiful has also won three Daytime Emmy Awards, for Outstanding Drama Series, in 2009, 2010, as well as 2011.

Now all you have to do is sit back, enjoy the show!
