The Hammer, a new Lifetime film based on the true story of Judge Kimberly A. Wanker, and will star Reba McEntire as its lead.
According to a press release from Lifetime, The Hammer is based on the true story of Judge Kimberly A. Wanker and follows “firecracker lawyer” Kim Wheeler (Reba McEntire) as she is named judge of the 5th District of Nevada when the current judge passes away suspiciously. Kim is known as “The Hammer” because she is one of the few traveling judges in America who covers the circuit between Las Vegas and Reno while enforcing the law. However, everything changes when Kim’s sister Kris (Melissa Peterman), the owner of a nearby brothel, is identified as a key suspect in the murder of the former judge.
The movie will star Reba McEntire as Judge Kim Wheeler, her real life boyfriend Rex Linn as Bart Crawford, who will be a mysterious cowboy with unknown motives. Her sister will be played by Melissa Peterman, Reba’s long time friend and co-star on the now-defunct Reba Show, and Kay Shioma Metchie as Vicky, a “tough-talking” bailiff who also happens to be Wheeler’s friend.
