The Young and the Restless has received 11 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series since it made its broadcast debut. At the completion of the 2019–20 season, it was also the highest-rated daytime drama on American television, a position it has held for 32 years. Since 1988, it had spent more than 1,000 consecutive weeks at the top of the weekly Nielsen ratings for that category as of 2008. The Young and the Restless held the title of highest-rated daytime drama for a record 1,300 weeks, or 25 years, as of December 12, 2013, according to Nielsen ratings. On May 1, 2022, the serial’s 12,500th episode aired. Currently, CBS has extended the run of the series through the television season of 2023–2024.
