Tuesday January 24, on “The Talk” Tracey Bregman visits to celebrate her 40-year anniversary playing the role of Lauren Fenmore on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless.” In 1985, Bregman won for the first ever Emmy for what is now called “The Outstanding Younger Actress” category; however, she lost that Emmy when her home burned in the Woolsey fire in 2018.
On stage, Bregman is surprised by her on-screen husband Christian LeBlanc, who announces, “I would like to present this, an Emmy for Outstanding Ingenue, but this time it’s from the people who love and respect and cherish you, your CBS, your “Young and the Restless” family, and I’m so honored to be able to give it to you.” I can’t thank you enough; I’m so overwhelmed, says Bregman visibly moved.;
In 1985, Bregman won an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Ingenue/Woman in a Drama Series. In honor of her 40th anniversary on the program, “The Young And The Restless.” Bregman remarked, “It has been one of the most extraordinary and heartfelt experiences of my career.” I made an effort to hold back the “ugly cry” on the air. Thanks to everyone who helped make this moment possible, including my ‘Young and Restless’ family, NATAS, ‘The Talk,’ and everyone else. My heart is brimming over.
“We were devastated to learn of the destruction of Tracey’s home, and with it, her well-earned Emmy Award,” continued Adam Sharp, President and CEO of NATAS. The Emmy trophy, which our judges recognized, is a testament to her perseverance and extraordinary devotion to her craft. We are relieved that it is back where it belongs.
