The NAACP Image Award-winning series “Truth Be Told,” from renowned author and executive producer Nichelle Tramble Spellman, offers a fascinating look into the nation’s obsession with true crime podcast. Octavia Spencer will reprise her role as investigative reporter turned true crime podcaster (Poppy Scoville) for the third season’s ten episodes, which will also feature award-winning actress Gabrielle Union as Ava . Spencer will take on a new case.
The first episode of “Truth Be Told” season three will make its international debut on Friday, January 20, 2023. Thereafter, one new episode will air each Friday through March 24, 2023 on Apple TV+.
In season three, Poppy (Spencer), upset by the media’s lack of interest in a number of young Black girls who have gone missing, joins forces with an unconventional principal (Union) to keep the victims’ names in the public eye while following up on leads to a possible sex trafficking ring that may have captured them.
In addition to Spencer and Union the following cast will be returning for Season 3.
